Your wedding day is arriving soon! You've put in all the planning, the diy-ing and scheduled every possible thing so that you can sit back and enjoy the special moments.  You've booked your hair, your makeup, your photographer and everything feels ready.

The Blush Team loves spending your special day with you.  We love making sure you're comfortable in our space and with our team and strive to offer you a stress free morning of Beauty Services.

Your beauty routine leading up to your day is just as important as the talent of your makeup and hair artists, so we want to give you some tips to ensure your skin feels good, your hair cooperates and you have minimal black circles under those eyes.

SKINCARE & TIPS

from our Makeup Artist and Skincare Specialist Lauren

Months before your big day:

Develop a skincare regimen - if you need help with this, schedule a customized facial with me at Blush, it includes a skin consultation with specific product recommendations.

Must have products:

Toner to balance your skins PH for optimal product absorption :

We recommend the Dr. Hauschka Toners or Naked Kitty Toner Sprays.

Night Creams/Serums with hylauronic acid

Eye Cream :

We recommend Dr. Hauschka Daily Hydrating Eye Cream

Oils - The correct oil depends on your skins needs and goals and it is recommended to get a facial to determine this.

Weeks before your big day:

Eat healthier, cut out sugar, junk food, etc!  Drink more water and exercise daily - your skin will be brighter, healthier and more plump.

We recommend adding the Miyu Tea into your drinking water as a part of your daily routine.  It hydrates and detoxifies your skin from the inside out! Available in loose leaf form in store.

This is also a great time to think about removing any unwanted facial hair.  Threading provides a gentle hair removal that shouldn't cause irritation or breakouts.  It is recommended one to two weeks before your day to avoid skin irritation from makeup placed on the fresh skin.

Our threader  is in Wed,Thu,Fri evenings between 5-8. Appointments can be made online or give us a call to book.   We also offer facial waxing if you prefer and Tints as well.

Days before your big day:

Stick strictly to your regimen, this is not the time to try new products or cherry pick. Stick to what works in order to avoid reactions or breakouts.

Do a mask, use hydrating products and avoid chocolate and greasy foods to ensure you don't break out.

We recommend booking in for a Dermaplaning treatment with Fade Medical Aesthetics to help your skin be as smooth and fresh as possible for the day of your wedding.  Chat with the ladies from Fade or with our staff about recommendations on timelines.

ON your big day:

Cleanse your face thoroughly in the morning and gently exfoliate, followed by a light day moisturizer.

Exfoliation will create the perfect canvas for your foundation, and your makeup artist will love you for it!

And make sure you drink lots of water on the day of so your skin is plump and does not appear dehydrated.

HAIRCARE & TIPS

from our Blush Hair Team

MONTHS before your big day:

Months ahead of your wedding is when you should consider making any BIG changes to your hair whether it's color or cut.  Change can sometimes take some time to get used to, to feel lived in and be comfortable with.  We recommend if you are hoping to be a highlift blonde or need a color correction that you begin to chat with your personal stylist or one of our talented team members to help set your hair on the right track so that it is where you'd like it to be on your wedding day.  A High Lift Blonde or color correction can take 2-4 sessions to achieve depending on the hair so planning ahead is crucial.

Unless you are a color or cut Chameleon ( aka someone who changes their hair frequently and it is a part of their style as a whole) you shouldn't consider any drastic changes right before your wedding.  Don't let any of that pre-wedding stress make you believe you need bangs ! Ha!

WEEKS before your big day :

Stick with a Hair routine in the weeks before your wedding.  Consider adding in a shine or moisture treatment once a week to enhance the quality of your hair and keep it hydrated and without damage leading up to the day.  Avoid tight ponytails and very hot tools that may cause breakage.

We recommend Palm Springs Pre Shampoo Treatment from R&CO, Acid Wash from R&Co or the Extreme Line from Redken all available in store.

Book your final hair appointments including a Color touchup or tone and trim.   We advise keeping your color appointments to atleast a week or longer from the wedding day as hair doesn't tend to cooperate as nicely when it is freshly colored.  If a quick tone is needed keep it about a week ahead and then try your best to not overwash your hair.

Book your trial, have your hair pieces or Veils picked out and have an overall vision for your look.  Often we have Brides wanting one very specific look and unless you have the exact hair the model or picture does it is sometimes not achievable especially as any pinterest photos have mutliple hair pieces involved.  It's best to bring in an over all feel of a look including pictures of your dress, any hair pieces or bold necklaces or earrings and then discussing the best options for your hair type with your stylist.  We sometimes will recommend hair pieces or extensions to achieve certain looks and can help you track those down if it's a tight timeline.

Treat your trial as just that.  It is a chance to get to know our space and our team and for our stylist to get to know your hair and what is going to work best.  Take pictures, discuss any changes you'd like to see during the trial time and make note of anything that you'd like to possibly change afterwards.

DAYS before your big day:

Keep the same routine you have been previously.  Hair,  like skin can be sensitive to change and now is not the time to introduce brand new products or try a new cut or color (unless of course you are already that kind of person! ).

BOOK yourself in for a Blowout the day before your wedding!  We offer an exclusive special for our brides to have this service done.  It makes our jobs immensely easier the next day as we can set your hair up with the perfect foundation to roll right into the style you are wanting.  Not to mention it's a great way to relax, de-stress and take one extra thing off your plate.

If you don't choose to book in for a blowout plan to wash your hair the day before the wedding and then either leave it to airdry in natural fall or blowdry with very little product.  It's best for us to be able to add more product in the day of then to struggle with something that is reacting badly to our irons :) Please don't follow the old saying "Dirty Hair is best"!  We can always add what we need... we can't as easily take away oils and extra product.

DAY OF your big day:

Arrive at the salon or be ready when we arrive to you with CLEAN DRY HAIR!  This is a great message to pass along to your bridesmaids as well as we get asked frequently.

Pony tail kinks and hat lines are also difficult to remove so try and leave those out of the routine for the day :)

Don't worry about bobby pins, spray or any other supplies! We supply all that we need.  The only thing you will need to worry about are any special pieces for yourself or your bridesmaids and a Veil if you have one.  We've got the rest handled :)

SIT BACK, RELAX and Let us help make your day special, stress free and full of Beauty.

We look forward to meeting all of the Bridal Parties we have already booked and we still have space to fill in more.

Please keep an eye on your email for some exclusive service pricing especially for our Blush Brides and Grooms.
